During our latest GS Conference, we took a deep dive into two of the most pressing issues affecting brokers today: ensuring mental wellbeing is prioritised in your day-to-day life, and using AI and technology to reach wider audiences.
This interactive session welcomed a mix of practical and inspiring insights, with guests Nick Elston, motivational speaker and founder of Forging People, and Chris Targett, Director at Social For Brokers, offering guidance on how to stay visible, connect meaningfully with younger clients, and look after yourself along the way.
Nick Elston offered attendees a powerful perspective on the challenges many brokers face, from the demands of the job to the internal challenges that can affect confidence and wellbeing.
His talk focused on managing stress and burnout in an always-on sector, using your lived experience to foster deeper client relationships, overcoming impostor syndrome, and recognising that managing mental health is a daily habit every broker should adopt.
Chris Targett led a hands-on workshop showing brokers how to streamline content creation.
Video now dominates online platforms, and with his insights and practical demonstrations - using tools like ChatGPT for idea generation and captions, and CapCut to edit short-form videos easily - Chris showed how advisers can create engaging, consistent content, even with time constraints.
He also discussed the growing power of AI-generated video, particularly great for connecting with younger, digitally native prospects like Gen Z. With platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels becoming central to how people get their mortgage information, Chris explained how brokers can meet potential clients where they are.
For deeper insights into creating engaging content, you can also watch Chris’ previous webinar here, which shows you how to create a month’s worth of social media content in just 60 minutes.

We appreciated all the insightful questions from our guests, and it was great to see such engagement. There were a few we didn’t have time to cover during the session, so we’ve included them here, along with our responses:
1. Could we create an avatar of an adviser (airbrushed, of course!) and automate a video to talk through reports or quotes? Or would that require different software?
You can use something called Hey Gen to create an AI avatar, but I think it strips away the personality. I'd always stick to doing the videos yourself.
2. How could I use videos for potential equity release clients?
I would change the prompt for ChatGPT to output topics around equity release. It's a tough market as it's so heavily regulated, but try and give as much value as you can in the videos without giving direct advice (always good to get scripts signed off by compliance beforehand) and be as human as possible, as they'll want to deal with a friendly person.
Attending our Growth Series Live events is a great way to gain first-hand insight from industry experts and participate in exclusive Q&A sessions. Keep an eye on your inbox for invites to future sessions, and if there are topics you’d like us to explore, we’d love to hear from you.
