Growth Series Live On-Demand: How Mortgage Products are Funded

Written by Jeremy Duncombe | Oct 19, 2023 9:00:00 AM

We held a live webinar on how mortgage products are funded in October 2023.

During the session, Iain Cunningham, Corporate Account Manager at Accord Mortgages, was joined by Craig Huitson, Senior Manager - Mortgage New Business Trading at Accord Mortgages, who discussed how lenders fund and how this affects the interest rates of products.

The session also covered issues including:

  • How brokers can explain pricing to their clients
  • Risk-based mortgage pricing
  • How 2023 will end and what lies in store next year

During the session, Craig pointed attendees to Investing.com - a useful resource where you can keep track of how swap rates might perform. In particular:

  • GBP 2 Years IRS Interest Rate Swap Bond Yield
This allows you to access historical data for GBP 2 Years IRS Interest Rate Swap Bond Yield. The yield on a bond represents the return investors will receive by holding the bond to maturity.

Craig also took questions from the audience, which helped to highlight issues that are currently on the minds of mortgage brokers.

Of course, you might not have been able to join the live webinar, or perhaps you’ve only recently discovered the Growth Series. If that’s the case, you can watch a recording of the presentation below:
